After receiving the email, many people turned away. It seemed to be hiring staff to make software. So many were disappointed. But what happened to those who consented? Surprisingly, none of Cicada 3301 contacted them again. In an instant they became the wind!

A year and a day later

Exactly one year and one day after this incident, the second puzzle of 'Cicada 3301' appeared with dozens of more complex mysteries. A greeting at the beginning of the puzzle read,

“Hello. Your incarnation is near. Your pilgrimage starts from here. All mysteries will be answered at the end of the puzzle. Best wishes, 3301”

Many people were shocked. But this time too many people got addicted to this puzzle. It was as exciting as the first puzzle, commented one of the puzzle solvers. The winner of this puzzle is nicknamed Nox Populi. A few days later, Markus Weiner, winner of the first puzzle, said on a talk show that Knox Populi had tried to contact him. According to Knox Populi, they have been duped this time too. For an unknown reason they suddenly stop contacting the winners. So far, experts have not known anything about the cause of this strange behavior.

The whole incident might have ended here. But to everyone's surprise, Cicada 3301 appeared again in the following year with a new puzzle. So far no winner of the puzzle, published in 2014, is known. Joel Erickson, who solved the first puzzle, said he would not be participating in any more puzzles. Joel Erickson said that steganography, cryptography was very easy to do for his IT related experience. But he had to suffer a lot in other literary areas. So this time he will not try again.
